Ok, I’m not very good at telling people about myself but I’ll give it my best shot.

I’m a middle aged mother of three children, ranging from 22, 12 & 9yrs old. Which means I’ve received, and am still receiving,  a fair amount of education in the different growing phases of “said” children. I work at home being the secretary, partner and director of our family trucking business. I get to do the book work.

We have a small family farm in the  Northwest of New South Wales Australia. Hence country life is a major feature and source of my writing inspirations.

I have been an online student with Berklee Music College in Boston for about 4 years. I have completed my Specialist Music Theory Certificate with them and am now only weeks away from completing a Masters for Theory, Harmony and Ear Training.  I have also completed a Creative Writing Course written by Pat Patterson with them.

My sister  spurred me into having my own blogging place and I am so glad that I have done so. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. I’ve written poetry and short stories for years but it’s the first time I’ve let any of my work see daylight.

I am an APRA/AMCOS member and have several songs “on the board” awaiting completion. I’m studying singing, guitar, sax and piano, maybe one day I’ll get it all together. lol

My dreams and aspirations are:

1)  I’d like to finish the songs I’ve written by acutally putting the music to them myself.   ha ha

2) I’d love to write/co-write a script for Dr Who. I think my brain might be whacky enough to do that. Aaah dream on.

3) Publish a book of my poetry/short stories

It doesn’t sound like much if you say it fast enough.

My suggestion:  Work towards your dream. Don’t ever let it go because if you do, it will never happen. Dreams are what it’s all about. I started my journey thinking that I’d learn a little Music Theory so I could write my own songs. Somehow, that journey progressed to the point of a Masters. It wasn’t planed that way. Such a goal seemed so unobtainable at the beginning. It has been a LOT of hard work. Really the how’s and why’s don’t matter. It’s all about that first step and the fact that the “next steps” just flow on. It’s been a wonderful journey so far, can’t wait to see where it will lead to next.

Thanks
